Fucking Mavericks....

The freaking Mavericks seem bound and determined to give me an aneurysm. That sound you are hearing could be the sound of the season going down in fucking flames. First they piss away a 13 point lead with 6:48 to go in Game 3, because our brilliant head coach, who is having the BEST season EVER for a first time coach, inexplicably goes away from the bread and butter offense of pushing and controlling the pace of the game to a slow down spread out offense that cost us Game 6 against the Spurs. Why would stay with it so long? Why wait until there is only three or four seconds left on the shot clock before forcing a shot, and why let the Heat back in the game. He did the same thing in Game 2 but the Heat could not make enough shots to get back in the game but it allowed them to whittle down a lead from 27 to 12.

Why not stick with shots that come within the flow of the offense? I have said this repeatedly: the secret to basketball is putting your team in position to make high percentage shots, and not fall in love with the 3 pointer. When you make shots it puts pressure on the other team, but when you wait until there is not time on the clock and take bad shots it puts pressure on YOUR team. Game 4 really startled me not because the Mavericks shot so poorly, because every team has a bad game, but what scares me is that no one seemed to step up except for Stackhouse and try to take control of the game. Everyone was settling for bad jumpers instead of driving to the hoop and challenging Shaq and Zo, and everyone had the deer in the headlights look.

Here is the most concerning part: They quit in the 4th quarter. You can say what you want but they mavs laid it down in the fourth and I have NEVER seen the Mavericks do that in a game this year. Not even when the Black Mamba dropped 62 on them through 3 quarters. Man it was disheartening.

Another question: When did Michael Jordan come out of retirement? Oh wait, he didn't, that was Dwyane Wade willing the Heat to the victory, dropping threes, and scoring at will against my beloved Mavs. To say I am nervous about Sunday is an understatement. We have to win this Game or the Mavs pysche may irreparably harmed.

I am not jumping off the band wagon here, but I am worried. I suffered through an 11-71 season, and was there when Jackson dropped like 35 to avoid becoming the worst team in NBA history. All I can say LET'S GO MAVS! and I fucking hate Pat Riley. He may be the basketball Anti-Christ.
